Chronicle Article
Sonia
Clayton, Virtual Intelligence Providers’ (VIP) CEO, was selected
as "The Hispanic Female Entrepreneur of the Year". This is one
of 3 distinctions with which she has been awarded lately. The two others
are Fox 26’s Hispanic Heritage Month TV segment, aired through September/October,
where her story has been featured on a daily commercial, and Continental
Airlines’ choosing her to be their keynote speaker and co-host,
along with Mr. Larry Kellner, Continental’s Chairman and CEO, at
the recently held Hispanic Heritage Fair. On her October 1st address,
Sonia said: “I think of America as a very generous nation and I
am thankful for the brilliance of our founding fathers who reflected deeply
on the nature of government and humanity and who debated the pros and
cons of various options before writing our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Together they produced a document that is much better than the product
of one mind alone. Together they dreamed of a world in which the Rights
of Man were widely respected including the rights of foreigners and the
Latino Population in America. There is no other constitution in the world
ever written with those principles. This very same principle is what gave
me the right to be here and be successful in America and for that and
I deeply thankful.
As we celebrate our Latino Heritage Day, here at Continental Airlines…We
must be proud of our country for we are a unique nation. We're a strong
and blessed country and we must keep it that way. But our strength isn't
really found in our military, or our pocketbooks. The true strength of
America is found in the character and values of the American people, in
the creativity of our people, in the diversity of our people and in the
compassion and values of our people. I want to thank you all for coming
to celebrate these gifts today. God bless America!
“Sonia and VIP’s story are our constant inspiration. She represents
the hard working spirit of the Latin Immigrants in America. In her work
we take pride, for she is one that emerged through the ranks to where
she is today.” – VIP Employees.
